If you like the idea of owning a pickup truck, but don't need to tow massive items, the 2019 Honda Ridgeline may be a good option for you. It has a family-oriented design, which gives it efficient, versatile usefulness for daily driving. The Ridgeline doesn't miss out on utility, though. It has capable towing ability and a durable bed.
Capabilities
All Ridgeline models are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available on most models.
When equipped with all-wheel drive, the Ridgeline can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Front-wheel drive models can handle up to 3,500 pounds. The truck can also handle a payload of up to 1,580 pounds.
Versatility
One of the main reasons to choose the Ridgeline over a crossover model is the Ridgeline's bed, which is wide enough to lay 4ft-by-8ft sheets of plywood flat. Its in-bed cargo storage system can be turned into a cooler when switching between work and play. In addition, an in-bed stereo system is useful for tailgate parties.
Technology
The base RT trim level comes standard with a 5-inch central display screen equipped with Bluetooth® connectivity and a USB port. The RTL-T trim get an upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen audio system with built-in navigation, satellite radio, three additional USB port, HD radio, and Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™.
Safety
Every Ridgeline comes standard with a rearview camera, traction and stability control, antilock brakes, and advanced airbags. The upgraded RTL-T model adds Honda's LaneWatch® blind-spot camera system. The higher-end RTL-E comes with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and intervention, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring.
